Hudson’s largest, liveliest, and most colorful event!
Winter Walk transforms Hudson’s mile-long main street into a holiday wonderland for one magical evening
On Saturday, December 7 from 5 – 8pm, Winter Walk lights up the early December night once more with stunning storefront displays, roaming carolers, Mr. & Mrs. Claus, street performers, and a magical firework display from the Hudson River. In its 23rd year, the 2019 Winter Walk is the perfect way to celebrate the creative economy re-energizing Hudson. So layer up and join our radiant community for a night of warm hearts and festive cheer!
Voted “Best Community Winter Event of the Year,” in 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017, Winter Walk attracted upwards of 20,000 visitors to the City to kick off the holiday season. Although Hudson Hall coordinated the festival, it’s truly an event that comes together with the cooperation and support of the City of Hudson and with generous support from the Columbia Economic Development Corporation, Harney and Sons Tea, Well Now Urgent Care, Taconic Biosciences, The Upstate Coalition for a Fairgame, and so many of the local businesses on Warren Street and vicinity.
Don’t forget to use the hashtag #WinterWalkHudson on social media.
Parking and Traffic
All of Warren Street, from Front Street to 8th Street, will be closed to traffic and parking during Winter Walk from 5-8pm. Only Worth/Prospect Avenue and Front Street will be used for north and south-bound traffic. Parking and traffic in all alleys will be restricted to emergency vehicles only. All other cars will be towed at the owner’s expense.
Trucks will be re-routed around the city for the evening. Cars can use all open entry points to the City, but Warren Street will be closed to all traffic from 5-8pm.
All City municipal parking lots will be available for parking. This includes lots on Columbia, Union and Warren Streets, the John L. Edwards Elementary School, the Consolidated Firehouse at 7th and Washington, and the waterfront lots at the Henry Hudson Riverfront Park. All County lots on Columbia and State Streets will also be available. Paid parking is available at the hospital’s parking garage at the top of Columbia Street and at the Amtrak long-term parking lot on Front Street, across from the station.
Please do not park in privately-owned lots without permission from the owner. We recommend that you dress warmly and arrive early to secure a parking spot.
