Taking inspiration from early Japanese silent film interpreters (called “benshi” in Japanese), neo-benshiartists today create a brand new blockbuster take on a very special kind of theater. “A Night of Neo-Benshi” is The Flow Chart Foundation’s answer to what you get when poets and performers remove the sound from film clips, create new dialogue, and perform it live in front of the screen. Ranging from the ridiculous to the sublime, it’s a one-time only event that’s not to be missed.
