Programming Submissions

Hudson Hall presents performing arts, visual arts, and community initiatives that align with our mission to inspire and promote the arts and strengthen civic life in Hudson.

We value thoughtful proposals that reflect artistic excellence, community relevance, and a clear plan for implementation. Please note that we program 8–16 months in advance and receive a high volume of inquiries. Due to staff capacity, we are only able to respond to proposals under active consideration. We currently accept submissions in the following categories:

Visual Arts Exhibitions

Hudson Hall presents curated exhibitions in our gallery spaces. Proposals may be submitted by individual artists or curators.

Exhibition proposals are reviewed quarterly in January, April, July, and October.

Hudson Jazz Festival

Each January, Hudson Hall issues a call for Hudson Valley–based artists and ensembles interested in participating in offsite performances and Sounds Around Town events as part of the October Hudson Jazz Festival.

Teaching Proposals

We welcome proposals for classes and workshops for youth and adults in disciplines including performing arts, visual arts, media, and interdisciplinary practice. Teaching proposals are reviewed on a rolling basis as we build seasonal offerings.

Readings, Lectures, Discussions, and Screenings

Hudson Hall occasionally presents talks, literary events, film screenings, and artist conversations that align with our broader programming themes and partnerships. Proposals in this category are reviewed on a rolling basis.

All other performing arts programming is curated directly by Hudson Hall’s artistic leadership and shaped by long-term artistic planning, strategic partnerships, and thematic initiatives. We do not maintain an open call for general performance bookings.

What to Include in Your Proposal

To help us evaluate submissions effectively, please include:

  • A project description (including artistic vision and relevance to Hudson Hall’s mission)
  • Artist or curator bios
  • Proposed timeline and preferred dates
  • Technical needs and space requirements
  • Community engagement or audience development plans, if applicable
  • A preliminary budget outlining projected expenses, anticipated revenue, and any funding already secured

We prioritize proposals that demonstrate clarity of concept, alignment with our mission, and realistic planning. For rental inquiries, including weddings, community events, or performance hall rentals, please visit our Rentals page.
